Rancho Humo Reserve, its Ecosystems, the Hacienda and the Tempisque River.

Rancho Humo is a private reserve of 2640 acres located at the heart of a major conservation area, which includes Palo Verde National Park. Here you can experience numerous ecosystems: mangrove, wetlands, dry tropical rainforest, pastures, a large variety of flora and fauna including herons, black crowned night herons, hawks, ducks, roseate spoonbills, wood stork, and the largest and most exotic aquatic bird in Guanacaste: the Jabirú. The ecosystems part of Rancho Humo has been subject to restoration (since 2007) with the intent of returning the landscapes to their natural habitat that was altered by men.

We will board a boat that will take us to the heart of Palo Verde National Park, is located in the low riverbank of the Tempisque River and to visit one of the marvels of Costa Rica, a sanctuary of migratory and resident birds in the Tempisque river bank.

Ranch Humo it is no longer exclusively a cattle ranch, but you can live in the flesh the traditional farm activities of Guanacaste.
